Policy and Procedures

European Hardware and Finishes is located in Valencia, California. Our office hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and our showroom is open to the trade from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you require special assistance on your projects, please make an appointment and we will be more than happy to assist you.

To determine the total amount with the finish, add the amount of the finish to the amount of the item itself. Cost of finish varies. Finishes are not subject to discount and are non-refundable. Plated hardware is final sale.

HOW TO ORDER

In order for us to provide you with better service

  • Always have your customer number ready. You can fax or e-mail your order using the sales order form in your catalog.

  • Always specify the thickness of the wood; otherwise we will ship 1” screws for the standard 3/4” thickness.

  • Specify if the item is “HANDED.” Except for barrel hinges, all other hinges and escutcheons are sold as pairs.

  • Stock brass and stock iron and some finishes are not lacquered. Our rusted finishes are lacquered to retard further rusting.

  • 100% non-refundable deposit is required for special orders. Special orders from Europe take approximately 8 to 12 weeks.

  • CANCELLATIONS: All orders are to be prepaid. You have 24 hours to cancel an order with finishes. Orders cancelled after 24 hours of placing your order, a finish had been requested, the cost for the finish is forfeited therefore non-refundable.

  • After placing and paying for your special order, you have 48 HOURS to cancel your order Customers are liable for special orders cancelled after 48 hours from the order date. All special orders are non-refundable after 48 hours – no exceptions.

TERMS

  • Check, or Visa/Mastercard/American Express/Discover.

  • Prices subject to change without notice. We suggest you call to verify pricing before quoting your customer.

  • DISCOUNT SCALE Discount not applicable on finishes and plating.

  • $ 200 to $499 = 10% Discount $ 500 to $899 = 15% $ 900 to $1499 = 20% Discount $1500 to $2499 = 30% $2500 to $3499 = 35% $3500 and above 40%

RETURNS

  • A “Return Goods Authorization” is required for all returns.

  • All returns are subject to inspection and 25% re-stocking fee.

  • Hardware must be returned within ten (10) working days after receipt of order and be accompanied with the original invoice in order to receive a refund (packing slip not acceptable).

  • Items returned after 10 days will be issued a store credit. Store credits are valid for 6 months after issue.

  • No returns will be accepted beyond forty-five (45) days from the date of purchase.

  • Finish and shipping charges are non-refundable.

  • No returns allowed on special orders.

  • All items must be returned in their original condition and packaging.

SAMPLES

  • All samples are sent out in iron or brass. Any samples requiring a finish are considered a sale and subject to the above “RETURNS policy.”

  • A maximum of ten (10) items may be taken as samples for ten (10) days. You may call for an extension.

  • There is no discount on samples. A credit card authorization will be held for ten (10) working days on samples checked out at the showroom. Checks are not accepted.

  • If samples are not returned on time, we will process your payment. (This applies only to samples picked up).

  • A 25% restocking fee shall apply on samples returned beyond ten (10) days and a store credit issued.

  • No returns will be accepted beyond 45 days from date of checking out samples.

  • Samples shipped by UPS (shipping is non-refundable) shall be paid at time of shipping. Please call to request an RGA before shipping your samples back.

CONDITIONS

  • Collection expenses: The debtor shall be responsible for collection expenses such as attorney or collection agency fees if one or the other is employed to collect past due invoices.

  • European Hardware and Finishes is not responsible for installation. European Hardware and Finishes is responsible only for delivering goods. Any misuse or damage by buyer is not the responsibility of European Hardware & Finishes/Gerber Hinge.

  • Late payments are subject to a 1.5% per month late charge.

  • Returned checks are subject to a $35.00 fee.
